No sooner than I posted Amberlyn’s status last night she got sick as a dog. She got food poisoning and was in total misery for the rest of the night. Bless her heart. I mean if it isn’t one thing it is another. She was so frustrated and was wondering why it was happening. I was at a loss cuz there really isn’t an explanation. It is just another bump in the road. I think around 3am is when we both crashed and finally fell asleep.
This morning was better but her arms and face were still swollen. The doctor agreed to give her some lasiks to help with the fluid retention. They are hoping that will help with the swelling, if not then they will do ultra sound to make sure that she is not developing any clots somewhere. Especially want to rule out that the SVC Syndrom isn’t back. Please pray that the lasiks work.
Her blood thinning meds level did come up a little today so that is good. Still have a little way to go but at least we are going in the right direction.
The doctor did have a concern today though. Some of the blood testing that they did showed that her liver level is elevated. Said that it wasn’t too high but they want to keep an eye on it. He was going to talk to the transplant doctor to see if they want to do anything different or to keep things the way they are and just keep an eye on it. It was a little unsettling to hear that news but again we are putting it in the Lord’s hands.
Her prograf level is finally getting to the right level. When we got here it was too low then it got too high. But now it seems to have settled down. Woo Hoo! I think we also finally found the right dose for her insulin as well. Her blood sugars have been all over the place. But that is something that is always going on when she is not feeling well or in the hospital. Stress and pain elevate her sugars. So we are trying not to stress too much and keep her pain under control.
Well I think that has caught it up for now. Please continue to keep her in prayer. We once again are hoping to be able to go home. But are putting it in the Lord’s hands.
