DONATIONS, DONATIONS, DONATIONS!

Whether it is your time to help put the gift bags together, provide merchandise or donate money… we can use it all.

Merchandise

Items needed are fleece blankets (we normally get, 'The Big One", from Kohl's), Preemie sized baby outfits, stuffed animals, gift cards and toys. Toys should be age appropriate for infants to 18 yrs old. Items MUST be BRAND NEW with the tags still on them and in original packages. As much as we appreciate all donations we CANNOT accept used items.  Remember, these children are in the hospital and some are very ill with fragile immune systems. We want to help protect them.

Time

December is when we put the gift bags together. The first year we put the bags together we made 80 bags and last year we were up to 150 bags! Dell Children’s Medical Center of Austin (which used to be Children’s Hospital of Austin where Amberlyn was a patient many times as a child) continues to grow. We anticipate that the number of gift bags will continue to grow as well. Our goal is EVERY child in the hospital on Christmas Day will receive a gift bag. Therefore we will need lots of help to fill the gift bags. If you would like to participate in filling the gift bags, send us an email and we will let you know when & where to come (usually mid-December but sometimes as late as the weekend before Christmas).

*Note: Everyone always asks to help deliver the gift bags to the children. Unfortunately even we are not allowed to do that because of the privacy law. We have a designated person who we have to give everything to for distribution at the hospital.

Money

No donation is too small. It all adds up. Amber’s Angels main fundraiser is for the Annual Christmas Gift Bags. But we also raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Asthma Foundation and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Amber’s Angels is affiliated with SWCM, Inc. a 501(c)(3) organization and therefore ALL donations are tax deductible.
