Amberlyn is at the transplant hospital in San Antonio

Below are entries that I have put on my facebook. Amberlyn is at the transplant hospital in San Antonio. She is not doing too good. Tomorrow is her 22nd birthday and she will be having surgery to make sure that she is not going into rejection. Please pray for her. The doctors feel that she IS NOT going into rejection but they need to do the surgery tomorrow to confirm what they feel. My thoughts are with DJ, Amberlyn's donor angel. He is the one that made it possible for Amberlyn to HAVE a 22nd birthday tomorrow.
Praise God we are finally Home!!!

No sooner than I posted Amberlyn’s status last night she got sick as a dog

No sooner than I posted Amberlyn's status last night she got sick as a dog. She got food poisoning and was in total misery for the rest of the night. Bless her heart. I mean if it isn't one thing it is another. She was so frustrated and was wondering why it was happening. I was at a loss cuz there really isn't an explanation. It is just another bump in the road. I think around 3am is when we both crashed and finally fell asleep.
Ok so we are making progress

Ok so we are making progress. Amberlyn was able to go 11 hours at one point from using the iv pain meds and then 9 hours the next. So she is getting better on not using it.
We did not get to go home today. That really bummed her out but we both agreed that it is best to make sure that she is better than to go home too early and then have to come right back. But it is hard to think clearly when you are so ready to go home. So we are praying that the Lord will help us through yet another bump in the road that we call life. We have been through so much more tougher times that I know we can make it through. Just have to have faith.
Quick update…we didn’t get to go home on friday

Quick update...we didn't get to go home on friday. We are still in the hospital. They are still trying to get her pain meds management under control. Before she can go home she has to get off of the iv pain meds. Also trying to get her diabetes under control as well as her blood thinning meds.
Praying that Monday will be the day. Please put in prayer that if that is the Lord's will it will be.

Yesterday was a rough day

Yesterday was a rough day. The pain from the surgery was hitting Amberlyn pretty hard. But she was a trooper and endured it. It seemed like all things went haywire yesterday as well. Poor communication all around. I just kept telling myself and Amberlyn to just breathe. lol
Today was a little better. She is able to space the pain meds out a little further apart. Which is good. Amberlyn told the doctor that she wants to shoot for friday to be able to go home. The doctor said that is a good goal to shoot for and as long as we can get her pain under control he will consider it. Today he started her on the by mouth pain meds that she will go home on. They need to get the dose right so when she does go home it will cover the pain. The last thing he wants is to send her home and it not be the right dose and have to come right back in. Dr. Kang is such a good doctor and he is very patient with her.

Its Mom again.
Amberlyn had her surgery today. My Mom was so sweet to come sit with me while Amberlyn was having her surgery. She said that she didn't want me to sit by myself while Amberlyn was in surgery. Thank you Mom! Mom's always know how to make their children feel better.
Amberlyn went in at 2pm for her surgery. About 3pm the nurse came to tell me the surgery was over and the doctor wanted to talk to me. Dr. Sanchez said that Amberlyn did very well in the surgery. She was able to take care of the hernia and felt that it would heal perfectly. The good thing about it was that where she made the incision was also at the location that she had the big scar from her ileostomy. And for Amberlyn that was a scar that was a problem for her. I mean it healed but it was a big scar. Dr. Sanchez said that she was able to close it up so when it heals there won't be that big scar. Amberlyn will be happy about that. =]

Hello Everyone
Mom here. Last Tuesday, March 15th, Amberlyn text me and said that she wasn't feeling well. I called her and when she answered she was throwing up and crying. She was able to tell me that she really felt sick and didn't know if she would be able to make it to her doctors appointment and then to work. I asked where she was and she said that she was at our gate to our property, so I told her to go back home and call me when she was there. I told her I was going to call her doctor and then work to tell them that she would not be able to make it due to she was ill. I told her that after I delivered the gift bags to Dell Children's then I would head home.
